JTWG System Aspects
The JTWG general scope of work is to identify the unique system requirements of Ethernet networks from the aspect of industrial automation applications and to establish techniques for the management of system aspects such as:
- common system configuration as well as system diagnosis procedures based on existing standards as e.g. RFCs, especially for IAONA partner technologies,
- user guidelines regarding system aspects of Industrial Ethernet systems, and
- input to normative committees.
Goals:
- Duplicate IP address detection mechanism:
Define a standard mechanism for duplicate IP address detection.
- IP address assignment:
Provide a specification for IP address assignment and device name resolution under significant application scenarios.
- IAONA SNMP MIB:
Finalize the draft IAONA MIB (Management Information Base) in conjunction with the SNMP protocol.
- Device Plug & Play:
Investigate and define mechanism to enable devices to achieve basic interoberability, announce device presence, locate devices, etc.
- Further work items will be added based on interest of JTWG participants.
